Connective canine residency
Living & Learning As Part Of Our Family

Lives inside our house as one of our own dogs
Seamless daily habit reinforcement: doorways, kitchens, and couches
24/7 behavioral immersion with consistent, compassionate boundary setting
Relaxed, home-bound evening downtime that nurtures emotional calm
Direct behavioral translation that holds seamlessly when returning home
Travel and public exposure joining our trainer at the facility in Smyrna
TRADITIONAL MODEL
Standard Commercial Facilities
Most board and train programs operate in high-volume commercial facilities designed for strict programs rather than individualized behavior and real-life scenarios.
Isolated in kennels for up to 12+ hours a day
Unstructured handling with non-training employees
High kennel stress, barking echoes, and anxiety spikes
Training rooms that fail to generalize to home or public living
Who this is suited for
Owners who need assistance to work on their dog's behavior daily. A board and train suits dogs whose training needs are more complex, and owners who are unable to teach daily but are willing to take part in weekly lessons, the transfer and follow-up maintenance afterwards — because that participation is what makes the result last.
owner participation
Owner participation is crucial. Weekly lessons teach you the handling, cues and expectations your dog is learning. The final transfer session covers all the rules and commands your dog is now working with, and follow-up lessons continue after the program ends. Without the transfer and follow-ups, a board and train rarely holds up at home.
How progress is supported afterwards
Your dog's return home is where their training becomes part of your everyday life. The follow-up structure is designed to help you understand the work established during the residency, maintain it consistently, and apply it across your own routines, environments, and expectations.
Every Board & Train package includes a required transfer lesson at pickup and a set number of follow-up private lessons corresponding to the program selected. Each lesson builds on the previous one, with progress reviewed and the next focus adjusted to what you and your dog need.
During the transfer lesson, your trainer will walk you through the skills your dog has learned, demonstrate the handling required, and explain how to maintain those expectations at home. Follow-up lessons then help you put that instruction into practice, gradually working through greater distractions, unfamiliar environments, and unexpected situations as your confidence develops.
Your dog's digital training archive provides an ongoing reference, allowing you to revisit demonstrations and reinforce the same communication between lessons. Additional virtual support is available as questions arise, so you're not left guessing how to respond when something changes.
Where we train
Board & Train residency takes place in the trainer's home at 6877 Beechwood Dr, Acworth, GA 30102. This is where your dog lives during the program; our Smyrna facility is a separate training location.
Daily home routines support practice in settling, manners, communication, and the skills in your dog's training plan. Suitable training outings may include our Smyrna facility and dog-friendly community settings, with difficulty adjusted to your dog's readiness. Transfer and follow-up lessons help you apply the training at home.
program structure
Board & Train gives your dog the benefit of daily, structured training while living alongside a trainer in their home. Each trainee follows a personalized curriculum, with three to five training sessions throughout the day balanced alongside socialization, exercise, enrichment, and rest. With only two to three trainees accepted at a time, each dog receives focused attention and a program built around their individual needs.
Daily sessions are supported by progress updates, training videos in a digital archive that allows you to follow along. Weekly private lessons introduce you to the cues, handling, and expectations your dog is learning, so you can be better equipped at the transfer lesson.
The work doesn't end at pick up. A dedicated transfer lesson is required at pick up, this walks you through your dog's training, how to maintain the skills, and how to handle different scenarios. Follow-up lessons continue that process, helping you apply what your dog has learned to your life.
Programs are offered in three tiers, with each providing a defined training period, a required transfer lesson, follow-up lessons, training equipment, and a digital archive of your dog's training at no additional cost. Weekly private lessons are also provided during the residency, they are optional.
The residency establishes the foundation; continued owner instruction is what helps carry that work into everyday life.
The transfer lesson prepares you to maintain your dog's training, while the included follow-up lessons help you apply those skills in your own environments and address challenges as they arise. Additional options
For owners looking for a different approach, the custom board & train option allows you to work directly with a trainer to establish your priorities, desired timeline, and program structure. Training is then organized around the work your dog needs rather than fitting into a predetermined tier.
