ADDING STRUCTURE ADVANTAGE

Why Training In Daycare Changes Everything

Daycare is a tool used by most owners to burn off their dog's energy, but the traditional structure could actually be causing your training to fall apart.

Adding the structure and rules back into daycare

Our play and train offers dogs a structured, balanced, and healthy way to socialize and build the obedience and manners.

Combines structured training, supervised play, and enrichment to make every visit more productive.

Builds practical obedience and everyday manners that owners can reinforce outside the program.

Develops impulse control, focus, and the ability to settle, alongside physical activity.

Activities and training sessions are adjusted to your dog's needs, temperament, and current skill level.

Gives dogs opportunities to socialize and play while dedicating time to meaningful skill development.

Your dog returns home with more than a tired body; they gain skills that can improve daily life with you.

TRADITIONAL MODEL

Standard Daycare

Daycare is an unstructured day of play without any concern of the dog's emotional regulation, ability to think, and an idea that every dog should like every dog they meet; including that little rude one nipping at their ankles.

The primary focus is often group play and care, rather than structured obedience training.

Physical activity alone doesn't necessarily address jumping, pulling, impulsivity, or difficulty settling.

Dogs may receive less one-on-one attention focused on their specific behavioral needs.

Without a deliberate training plan, a day away from home may offer little carryover into everyday manners.

Who this is suited for

Dogs who need more mental exercise or structure than daycare provides, and who do well in the company of other dogs. Suitability for group interaction is assessed for each dog — play style, arousal level and how well they take instruction within the group.

owner participation

Owners take part through applying what is handed over at the end of the day and reviewing videos to know how to keep reinforcing at home. The daily structure and any training focus are determined with you in advance.

How progress is supported afterwards

You will know what your dog worked on and how the day went, with practical suggestions for what to continue at home so the training does not stay at the door. You'll also receive either virtual or hands-on coaching with the trainer to discuss the focuses.

Where we train

Play & Train takes place at our Smyrna facility at Dogma Dog Care, 4790 Wright Dr SE, Smyrna, GA 30082. Your dog practices the goals in their plan through a structured day of training, suitable supervised play, enrichment, and rest.

A handover and training videos explain what to reinforce at home. Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Woodstock owners can discuss attendance and any available travel arrangements with the trainer before enrolling.

program structure

Play & Train takes place at our Smyrna facility alongside Dogma DayCare. Your dog spends the day within the established daycare environment and trained staff, combining training sessions with Dogma's daycare dogs.

At pickup, you'll receive a handover and access to training videos so you understand what was covered and what to continue at home. The objective is to make your dog's time away productive—and ensure the skills developed during the day have a place in your life together.

For our Acworth and surrounding area clients, we can organize travel accommodations to still attend without having to make the drive themselves.

Packages combine training days with private or virtual lessons for you, allowing dog's to follow a structured curriculum with the trainer and you. Each package includes training equipment and a defined number of owner lessons and daycare credits.
